Village Dairy : Tral residents rue lack of basic facilities, demand attention of higher ups | KNO

Pulwama, May 22 (KNO): The residents of Arampora area of Tral in South Kashmir's Pulwama district on Saturday rued lack of basic amenities in the area and demanded attention of higher-ups in this regard. Locals from the area told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that there is shortage of drinking water, unscheduled power supply and dilapidated roads in the area. They said that they have repeatedly brought these issues in notice of higher ups several times but on ground nothing has been done. The residents further said that the condition of the roads is very dilapidated and haven't been macadamised since long now. They further added that even in summer, the frequent power cuts are prevalent and authorities aren't providing any attention. Shakeel Ahmad, a local resident, said that politicians often come here during election campaigns and get votes, however, when they get elected, they never visit the area. He said that this village has been neglected on all developmental fronts. They further added that even in 21st century they are facing acute shortage of drinking water and are forced to drink contaminated water. They alleged that area has been neglected on all developmental fronts by successive government. They appealed higher ups to look into the matter and solve the demands of the area on priority basis—(KNO)
